Most people would not run with a bad back. How come it is the reason you started running?
What about Physio, will they be able to help? Do you do gym work too? If you have lost some power in your leg then maybe gym work might help with this to build the muscle and strength in your leg.

Both fixture 5 out of 7 (last one for me though) and 5 miler.

Sounds like nothing after reading what you guys have been up to, but I managed the whole way round tonight without stopping
I think I was trying to run too fast too soon. So tonight, after some advice from Foxyinrunninggear I started off jogging for the first wee bit to ease into it. The overall pace was slower too. But it felt better being able to do the whole thing without stopping, rather than start stop start stop.
So I'm just going to keep at it, and slowly increase the speed, then eventually the distance
