Not great pics technically, grotty old day and cold too. But me and Mr LPH braved the chavs on quadbikes and headed to Southend Shakedown. A good turn out thanks to the sunshine first thing.
Funny thing was with all those thousands of bikes I didn't see another BMW 650GS or KTM 990 Adventure the whole day! Here's our bikes parked up A few of those along the Esplanade And an idea of how many were there looking in both directions!

Not recent LPH, but your Robin reminded me of a photo a took ages ago and have just found again. Been tweaked slightly to bring out the colour:

My original Colt model 1851 Navy pistol.
(with matching serial numbers)  They were produced from 1850 -1873. This one was made in Hartford, Connecticut, USA in October 1859 and sold at a hardware store in New Hampshire. How it came to be 'down south' is undoubtedly through the misfortunes of it's original owner during the American Civil War (1861-1865). A number of these same model pistols were also manufactured in Colt's London Armoury, near Vauxhall Bridge in London.

Sunset at Hollingworth lake last night. Took the other half for a tootle on the bike, taken on the phone with no editing do what so ever.
