Re: The running thread!
Right did my last 6 miles of the year - Fetcheveryone tells me I have logged 712.19 miles this year.
That's 0.26 times Los Angeles To New York or 0.17 times The River Nile or 2.81 times The length of the London Underground or 139272.61 times The whole nine yards or 0.81 times The distance from Lands End to John O'Groats or 9.69 times The length of Hadrian's Wall. I think that is without races, so if I add them and some runs which I didn't log when I wasn't really using the site properly - I'm on 850 for the year.......and my legs can really feel it. Enjoy your running and have a great new year! |

Re: The running thread!
My knee is aching a bit. I guess I should not bother tonight. But I feel the urge. I'll get one more in and then rest it up for a while.

Re: The running thread!
Last run of the year completed. After some advice I decided to take a reality check on the knee situation.
I slowed my pace and went for longer distance. I did the 8 miles today. Just got back in and did it in an hour and ten. Happy with that. I have decided to go for distance and not worry about my times. I have to say at the end of the run I felt I could have easily ran much further. I used to do a 4 mile circuit in my lunch breaks. I will start doing this again and use it for speed training. There is a 10k race on the 11th Jan in Basingstoke. I have decided to enter. Don't care where I get or what time I get. Si is very happy at the moment. I am just hoping my knee keeps together for me. Last edited by Stig; 01-01-09 at 01:00 AM. |

Re: The running thread!
Well at least you are heeding advice Si and putting yourself in for the 10k very good indeed. Like you say, it doesn't matter about times it is all about enjoying what you do . Good luck, if you fancy someone to join you on the run give me a shout

Re: The running thread!
Judging by the times you have been running you'll put in a great time, certainly quicker than mine.
I just ran to pick the car up from last night, only 2 miles but felt like 20!!! |
