Phosphorus was discovered in Hamburg in 1669 from urine.

It burns violently and sticks like glue to whatever it touches.

The RAF used it to burn down Hamburg during the war.

Proof that you can be too clever.

Some animal facts :

Ant's can not fall to its death , some spiders also.

Dolphins never fully sleep , it will drown if it do , only haft of its brain sleeps while the rest is awake.

Not all the strings in a spider web is sticky.

I have to work now , will post some later.

Cows can walk up stairs but not down them. Something to do with their knees!

Elephants have 8 kneecaps.

The music in the Kronenburg 1664 advert with the short symphony was actually written in 1665 and is part of a full symphony.

Its cows... its the way the knees bend. Can go up, but not down.
For the benefit of Jester666 [page 18 it says on the quote]

So what is the music in the Kronenbourg ad btw?

Quote:
Botanically speaking, a tomato is the ovary, together with its seeds, of a flowering plant, i.e. a fruit or, more precisely, a berry. However, from a culinary perspective the tomato is not as sweet as those foodstuffs usually called fruits, and it is typically served as part of a main course of a meal, as are other vegetables, rather than at dessert. As noted above, the term "vegetable" has no botanical meaning and is purely a culinary term.

This argument has led to actual legal implications in the United States, Australia and China. In 1887, U.S. tariff laws that imposed a duty on vegetables but not on fruits caused the tomato's status to become a matter of legal importance. The U.S. Supreme Court settled this controversy in 1893, declaring that the tomato is a vegetable, using the popular definition which classifies vegetable by use, that they are generally served with dinner and not dessert. The case is known as Nix v. Hedden (149 U.S. 304). While the Tomato can be classified as a fruit, it is officially categorized as a definite vegetable in the United States.
Its as bad as VAT cases about Jaffa cakes being biscuits...

Seriously though, its a huge technicality about coffee being a fruit juice. Its like saying you get apple juice from apple seeds, or peach juice from peach kernels. The coffee "bean" is actually the seed of the plant. :P
