Had to go away overnight with work at the last minute.

Opened my hotel room door to a heatwave, no air conditioning, and couldn't open the windows because the street outside my room had loads of bars with people laughing and shouting, which was still going on at 0500

Had about 5 hours disturbed kip in a sauna.

Just found two large scratches on the lens of my glasses . Verifocal too, so that won't be cheap.

Another biker decided to change lanes right in front of me this morning, forcing me on to the central reservation to avoid them. They didn't bother checking before they moved, didn't acknowledge my horn blowing. They just kept going.

Wasn't happy.

They were on an MV and in full leathers with flash back pack and chin mount go pro. All the gear, but no idea. Rode like they were on a moped.

Every mode of transport has its idiots. The biggest moaners are cyclists and some of them are complete twits. You know how they complain about cars passing too close, well that rule doesn't apply to them when passing other cyclist. I regularly get this as I cycle to work and it makes me jump as unlike a car you don't hear them coming.

My father's advice to me when I started driving was to treat every road user as a complete idiot.

A new dashcam that sends its footage straight to the police. As the article says, "1984" was not supposed to be an instruction manual:

This is a worrying trend and the article shares my concerns. I'm not sure how they could prove speeding unless they know the cars speed, which they will, and therefore anyone overtaking must be going faster. Would an uncalibrated device stand up in court?

Now bung in autonomous vehicles which could be programmed to send and/or archive footage automatically and you've got a fleet of mobile traffic cameras. Eyes everywhere.

However the police and CPS still won't have the manpower to process every transgression and I predict it'll get totally ignored unless it's a serious "incident" - which isn't really preventing accidents is it?

Nah it'll be automated and outside of the courts like many "offenses".

Agreed. I'm not sure of the true value of this. You can't beat having proper police on duty.

the advice i got was along the same lines except that they are out to kill you. its getting worse with this "dont care" attitude of people these days. saying that its not too bad up here in Jockland due to the low population.
