What a conundrum.

I think this is an excellent site because the people make it so, its a laugh, people are helpful and informative, and it brings out many different views.

For that I thank Jonboy/Greg/Admin2 for setting the site up.

However I think that the site administrator needs to listen to everyone, and not get so high up on his authority horse. Sure you have the power to change things if you want- but if it were "my" site, I would prefer it to be representative of what everyone wanted. I also think that people should have the right to express opinions about whatever- however extreme the opinion or petty the subject.

Another thing (that goes for us all) is that opinions are only opinions, and this is only a web forum- so don't take it too seriously folks.

Maybe set down ground rules about what the logo should look like and let this comp run, you never know- it could be fun and provide intresting results. IMO a logo should be:

1) legible
2) aesthetically pleasing
3) Display all relevant information.

Asides from that I'd say it were a free reign- If the community were to decide a dog turd with "sv650.org a site for sv-riders" was the thing to have then so be it. At least it would show what a funny bunch of tarts we all are.

Alternatively lock the post and ban the people on this forum that make it "intresting".......

Oh and if its worth anything (probably not much), I don't like the logo either. Can we not copy the style of the SV logo?

Edit: forgot to say, it would be wrong to think that site sponsors have any say in running the site, they don't.

I don't mind which logo is used on the site, it doesn't change the enjoyment I get from riding my SV (after all thats why we all use this site!)

Having said that, surely it would make more sense for the logo to resemble the bikes logo.

Although I don't post much on this forum I've been reading just about everything on it since I got my SV. All this angst about a logo has made me realise that you can spend too much time reading it. So I'm going to have a holiday from sv650.org for a couple of weeks. Byeeee.

Well said, the rest of you find something of real worth to worry about (JHS stage 3 cams or something ). Or post a flippin joke, or I'll tell you what, have a go at designing something and see how hard it is then pop it up on here for everyone to deride. And for those that say 'making a logo doesnt take time, its easy' then go and do something of worth with those skills.
