Yeah, if you want to go cheap it'd be more like JXD 661 for ?39, then something like the old dogcam 420 (?60 for the kit with mount, mic, battery pack etc) or if you want to drive it down further, ?25 for the cheapy 420 line cameras from Singapore, and no external mic. Now, that's cheap. But I'd want better if I was going to the hassle, I already tried to do it cheap once and it didn't work out so well

Nice red X
(ah, I can see it now, looks good! Did the camera mounting part come with the camera?)

I think our very own Blue has got a Sport cam and I'm gonna follow him.

What are peoples views on a DVD camcorder with bullet cam plugged in? Would it skip?

Does anyone just strap a camcorder to the tank or onto their tankbag?
If so does it work well as I have come accross something like this http://www.stickypod.co.uk/motorcycle_camera_mount.html

Not sure if it's any use to anyone but I've been using an aiptec DV8900
Same as this one http://actioncameras.co.uk/Aiptek_Mi...t_DV_8900.html

and their sporty cam.
http://www.aiptek.eu/index.php?optio...id=121&lang=en

You can have a look at some youtube footage in VGA and QVGA setting here http://2bikes.weebly.com/latest-news.html (scroll down to near the bottom) The orignal footage is better quality as you tube compresses it on upload.

I've since picked up a Vista 480 TVL bullet cam which can be powered from the bike and when I get around to fitting it, this will feed to the DV8900
http://www.vista-cctv.com/go.php?str...G40F2DB5C2BA39

I've also added an audio connection from the autocom so that it records commentary and bike2bike comms

Mike

I got one of those cameras to use as a recorder after my JXD died... I've not used it yet but I like it already, it's cheap but it doesn't feel cheap. Maplin were doing a crazy sale on them a while back but they're all gone now I think. The camera they supply isn't as good as the recorder, it seems, but I just got the recorder to use with my 520 cam. Looking forward to trying it out!

Yup was maplins for me too - IIRC got both main unit and sporty cam for £99 - main reason for the new cam is I just got sick of feeding the separate cam with AAAs, but hopefully it should improve the quality a touch.

Northy, how did your JXD die as I'm just looking at options now. I see the dogcams have come down in price a bit. Did you get good results?
