I have Hardened steel ones in there now. Purely cos they're black, otherwise I'd have stainless, but black match the mirrors

when i replaced my bar ends, I started trying to unscrew the screw which seemed to hold them on. After about 10 mins of head scratching, I tried unscrewing the entire bar end piece with my hand & it came straight off... Not sure if you're trying to get the screw out to screw a new bar end unit in or something but have you tried this maybe?

Sucess!!!! God i am relieved. Cheers to all the help. In the end Drilled the screw head off and released the bar end. Then bent the remainder of the screw to be able to get enough leverage to unscrew it. And it worked!!!
Cheers Paul but as I have learnt from DD the bar end on curvys are different to the Pointys.

Sorry to bring this up again...
![]() I've got my bar end screws stuck as well and looks like I'll have to drill the head off as well... But I'm worried about bending the screw to get the rest of it out. Would mole grips on the remains of the screw head be any good to do instead? Bloody screws... ![]() Cheers loads everyone ![]() |

You won't get the leverage on the screw with mole grips. They will just spin round the screw.
Heres what I did: Drill head off and slip the bar end off. You will now need a hollow piece of metal. I used the handle from a hydraulic car jack. I bent the remainder of the screw to about 30 degrees from straight and was able to unscrew it. Just bend slowly and only bend just enough so that you get a workable angle. It'll be fine.
