Anyway, back to the pillion in question! How did you find the Daytona seat?
The seats pretty hard...felt funny when i got off, but i think we are looking into gel seats? i think that would be much better.
I did slide a fair bit over bumps and stuff so had to keep rearranging my feet and stuff, which is a little scary when lylej is driving still!

+1 and try not to look at the ground if you're going round roundabouts, that freaked me out a little at first but obviously it's not as much a problem if you're a pillion lol

No not all unfortunately, you're just supposed to cling on for dear life with some sports bikes, scary stuff!

Yeah YC has a gel seat for him, but not for pillion, doesn't bother me too much, it's the lack of grip that becomes a bit annoying. I need some new leathers I think, mine have been used so much they don't seem to have anywhere near as much grip as they had to begin with! There's some good grippy stuff which can be put on the seat for better grip, when we get round to it hopefully we'll get some!

It is good though but need more practice!
When he is braking try putting your hand right around him and pushing against the fuel tank with your hand, that will stop you sliding forward, but dont try it unless you've talked it through with him first...

And try bracing with your legs when he comes to brake or cornering, means you don't need to use your arms as much. Once you get used to his way of riding/brake timing and such you'll begin to anticipate just when he brakes and brace in time. Best to try and keep your eye on the road as much as possible if not all the time, that way you know just what's coming up and don't get any nasty shocks!***

*** I apologise if this seems obvious lol!

Did you struggle to hold on when accelerating? Or was John nice and easy when accelerating?

I went on my mates VFR750 (pillion) and he gunned it up the bypas and I was holding on for dear life... was funny but my feet wouldnt stay on the pegs cos of the gear changes and the changes in the forces all the time. LOL. Would have been easier though if id held on to him I guess.

Nice to see another pillion out there
My gf uses my pegs to get on too. Drives me nuts; she's 5'10, there's no way she needs to. One of these days she's going to tread on the gear change by accident and suddenly kick it into gear.

Claire uses the my footpeg to get on the Viffer if she is pillioning. Works fine as long as both of you agree it's the way to do it.
