Your near ashford, you got some of the widest and most open air straight roads in Kent around you.

Only thing you should hit is a badger or fox on his nightly road crossing trip...

ha ha yeah Pheasants is our local worry.....

Foxes, maybe, they are fairly quick off the mark.

Rabbits, even though i have two, just keep on riding...........

Badgers, not come accross on yet, don't really want to. But then if you start "worrrying about what if" then i'd best stop walking across the road, or going on a plane, etc etc.......

Is better to deliberatly go out in the dark first, rather than be surprised when your boss demands you work an extra couple hours one night and its now pitch black outside when you ride home.
Besides, I think its safer than in the day. Assuming you aren't trying to go down unlit twisty roads in the country at 60.

Most of the "50x brighter than xenons, honest" stuff on eBay is just chav tat. To nick a quote from someone on barryboys forum "what are they, the f**kin sun?"
Mostly cheap bulbs with a blue tint on them, so despite the light being whiter, you get less light, more heat.

Stick with osram nightbreakers or the philips equivalent.

Standard lights are fine though

This post has me confused, and i've been riding donkeys years.....

Just go and ride. Ignore everything written. Go out, turn on bike, turn on lights, ride as normal.
