Fortunately there's always places to strap extra tanks if needs be, but should last longer than any sportsbike and any fuelstop on any rideout bar a cross desert rally
I've corrected the error(s) for you !!

Seriously though - congrats on your new bike

When I first saw the GS I thought it was the ugliest bike I'd ever seen - but now I have to say that I actually like it - kind of like a cuddly duck-billed platypus with wheels & an engine !!

Which, I have to say is far better looking than a bike that appears to have a circa 1970's Rickman fairing attached as an afterthought !!

I do like the Dakar paint job though - far more eye catching than the dreary KTM Orange.

In fact I'm glad you've bought this as it's one more bike that won't need to fuel up during the AR (that makes about 2 of us then !!)

Just think though...

I can always strap a jerry can on each pannier and get 400miles between stops

You'll always get pensioners asking you if you're Ewan McGregor

Oh, and this:

Went on a mini "adventure" this evening to test the new HG Tuareg kit, excellent stuff, also did me first river ford, only 18" deep or so but it's amazing how much comes up through the hole the forks go down when you hit it going too fast - once the bullet cam is set up properly I'll take some video

Just one photo:

I've seen a light bar that lifts those auxilliary lights up under the nose a bit more. Looks tidier IMO, but hey being picky a lovely machine. Mine is quite thirsty (standard cans and map), not sure how thirsty but thirstier than the GS, or smaller range cant remember what the tank size is on the non-Vox GS.

I like my 990, but the GS is still the best all round bike I will have owned IMO.

Lots of stuff goes on in Advrider, Regional forums Europe, often trips afoot.
