Find a campsite or caravan site somewhere that'll cater to a large group and let us spread out a little... (Callendar? Lochearnhead? Kinlochleven would be golden but it's probably too far up)

We've talked about doing this before but never actually pulled it off- the Irish and essex run we did a couple of years ago was superb, but I'm sure we can do better, it could make for a fantastic weekend... And I've got this image in my head of a bonfire on the shore of a loch somewhere, and Jimmy turning up with an artic overloaded with beer and burgers

What do you reckon? This is just sounding out more than anything else, ideas for location is probably what's needed most- it has to be far enough north to be interesting but not so far that everyone bottles out of coming up. I'd love to make it Kinlochleven, there's a perfect campsite by the endrace with a bunkhouse and everything, it couldn't be better, but it's a long run for most. If we've got people coming this far we'd have to make the riding good, the Glencoe loop with the duke's pass, wibbly wobbly and new favourite the B863 is a fantastic one-day run so it makes sense to make that a main event, maybe with a secondary run, make it a long weekend...

But ideally we need a place where we can make a racket without getting in trouble so a small campsite we can totally take over would be the ideal, a place that can deal with say 30 people (a wild guess)... Or caravan park would be just as good, or chalets, or even a hotel.

The GM is organised with a lot of people in mind. NOT just a select few. Theres a whole lot of different tastes, riding and people to think about. You can't just organise around one set of people arguing the toss over what is right or wrong, or indeed when or where.

The dates are set. When the event happens it will be great because we all make it great regardless of where it is ridden or where we stay.

People can we please stop nit picking and just let Aby and her biaaatches get on with it or she may just decide to throw in the towel and you'll be left with nothing.

Great thats means i don't need to sort out accomodation, or even a campsite as we can all ride these roads as an when we feel like

In Fact - for GM3 lets all meet a kinross services 9am 26th June 2010 and we'll do a left right rideout. You want to come see you there - arrange your own accomdation and food etc in the surrounding area. Thats a typical rideout with us - routes are suggested we go and invariably they change
.
If you want to do you own accomodation and not interested in the social aspect after the rideout, interested in only the roads you want to ride ( ie want to know the route before you decide if its worth coming). book time off and come up when you want instead of tying yourself down to a specific weekend.

I know what you mean and I'm sure you didn't mean it as its comes across however harsh.

The GM3 will be about the roads whether wet dry or sheep laden and the scenery and once its completed there will be chance to socialise with like minded bikers which I hope that everyone will join in with.

to date decisions still to be made:

Area
Campsite - tent wig wams and other, cost
Alt Accom - is it available and locus - because some do want to stay with the group but without slumming it
Route with A,B and C versions
Social event - where and what

Suggested Route will probably not be posted earliest Feb/Mar - we need the time to get out and scout and Dec/Jan/Feb ain't the best months

As for hooning around the roads or commenting on less experienced riders for GM1 - i'm going to remain silent. I would hope that the chance of riding the roads would be enough to take a punt on esp when the route can be changed as late as the day before. But alas it is not to be.

Tiger 55 I just love you being one of my bitches please send me some of your enthusiam because Ralph has hit it on the head.

Sorry, I was under the impression that the GM was primarily for the Scottish group.

It is clear that I'm in a minority in wanting a good days ride on interesting and challenging roads.

Hopefully see you lads and lasses next year

Quite frankly, I find all of that hard to believe. Especially the "for the Scottish Group" bit.

Don't worry, if you got pee'd off with it for any reason and threw in the towel, with all this enthusiasm Tiger has displayed, I'm sure he'll be only too happy to take over. Then you can be his biatch.
