For a moment i thought you'd swapped the SV for a mobility scooter or sumthin!
Glad you're back with us.

So, back to the route. Any chance of a preview now MissQ?

Cheers James, but the rear has pretty much used up all it's rubber this weekend so getting up to you guys on it is no longer an option.

Appreciate the offer though

Well you've got a couple of weeks until you need to make a decision, so I'd be checking the tyres almost daily and seeing how quickly, or not, they're wearing.

Think how gutted you'd feel if you couldn't do the rideout, and remember, even if they do last you'll have to replace them on your return, so you're only putting off spending 200 quid for a week or so anyway. Also worn tyres do have a tendency to pick up punctures more easily, IMO. Wilds of Scotland with a flat doesn't sound fun. No guarantees either way of course.

Andy don't dally about over tyres. You already have doubts, and TBH the Viper Sports aren't geared up for a tour of Scotland, if they are already rapidly disappearing. Get some Storms on, your confidence will go up no end.
And get the damn thing over here, so we can iron out your feelings about the bike itself. We're in Tues and Weds this week, and once Petes home from Scotland after the weekend, hes got the entire week off including the first weekend in June. Make sure your visit to Scotland starts off positive....so you can have fun and carefree miles!

listen to Diz and pete Andy- they make sense .. and with respect - they been biking longer than you matey .

£200 in your pocket..? it is your life.. the rubber is the only thing keeping you on the road. The weekend costing more than £200 would be ruined too if you had to spend a day waiting for recovery and then finding a tyre dealer who wud rip you off cos they know you have no other option.. then you would have to have whatever tyre they had in stock on..

plus you could get 3 points by the sunday on way home for low tread. //

make sense? I know it does cos me n luckypants had exactly the same convo yesterday when he was at mine and we looked at my rear which I was hoping to make last scotland.. Mike said it needs changing NOW. so .. bite the bullet and £200 FOR SOME STORMS and now I have made that decision I know I will enjoy scotland more knowing that the rubber under me is good..

if you doin the slab on the way up too andy that extra little bit of tread u have will be gone before you get to good roads..

Andy I've got about 3mm left on my rear Storm Ultra and I'm thinking hard about whether to fit a new tyre for Scotland. With softer compound Vipers it would be a no brainer, change it. For me it depends on the number of miles I do in next month. TBH I'm already thinking along the lines of JamesMio's suggestion of getting the tyre changed in Glasgow or thereabouts.
