Well I managed my first commute to work and back today about 16 miles there and back YBR was lovely to ride after an tiny off to start with (very loose clutch, LOADS better after being tightened).

YC rode in front on the way there, and I in front on the way back. Felt great! Not confident with wind at the minute, didn't want to go any faster than 40/45mph on some roads, don't like getting buffeted about should get better with time. Need to practice my lines a bit better but I think it's actually getting easier!

I've been on the road 3 times now since the CBT, twice on the old CG and today on the YBR. YBR loads better than CG, if a bit heavier but I should get used to that Each time I go out I improve on something else because I had a chance to practice it the time before, meaning I can then move on and concentrate on another aspect the next time I go out.

Really enjoying it. Today on the way was my first experience of cold hands though

Am wondering if it's possible to fit handguards to the YBR, I have poor circulation at the best of times so it doesn't take much for them to freeze on me (see here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...54#post2257854 )

Nice one glad to hear that it went well.
And dont worry about the wind, youll soon get used to it, i used to hate it, but im fine with it now.
As for the handguards, im not really sure, but i know of someone else who was considering the idea, so i shall ask him if i can find him again

Today was the first time out on the YBR. The pilot/low beam headlight bulb needs replacing otherwise I'd have gone out this evening But I'll be out to work on it tomorrow and monday, same route. And a few runs through the week, never fear! I have transport now = a new lease of life, I don't intend to waste it! RIP bus journeys

This problem can be remedied by eating more pies
As for the cold hands thing, t'wasnt that cold today by a long shot, think you need better gloves now you are the pilot, and I could lend you my old undergloves to see if that helps any??

tried on a pair of undergloves, didn't fit under mine lol! Might be worth a shot. The gloves is probably the next step before modifying the bike
