We've all got to remember Rossi has a talent for racing through the rest of the riders in the wet and then binning it... He did it beautifully at Mugello on his blue and white Honda 500...

Well its Casey Stoner who saying that Rossi was wrong.

And he knows more than we do.

That clapping and the comments....from Stoner doing nothing for his fan club.

I don't get the impression that Stoner particularly cares whether people like him or not, he seems solely focussed on success in terms of beating everyone at every opportunity (practice, testing, race, quali). I like him because he says what he thinks, Rossi is great obviously, but as has been said before, he plays the right cards all the time and it's too fake most of the time, imo.

Fair point Mr UKI.

But remember 'Race them on Sunday, sell em on Monday'

Mr Stoner aint selling me Hondas.

Honda is racing as an advert for the road bikes and if Mr Stoner becomes so unpopular then it will backfire.

Am I the only one who thinks Stoner was genuinely checking on Rossi's welfare after the race i.e. not damaged the shoulder etc.? His adrenaline had subsided and rational thought had returned. Trackside reaction was entirely understandable but Casey knows how good Rossi is and probably wants him racing as well as possible - makes the victory sweeter when the competition is at it's best.

I thought the "ambition exceeds talent" dig was hilarious and I think shows Casey has a sense of humour. Can't deny it was factually correct - if Rossi had had enough talent (however stratospheric the level) he wouldn't have fallen off.

If only I had as much as 1% of the talent either of them have.

IMHO, the race was a poorer spectacle without 'em both.

Yes, I thought he was pre-empting a possible excuse.

Still it made excellent watching. I did like when the marshalls were patting Rossi on the back and congratulating him on making sure there would be a Spanish winner. They're all heart.

Possibly another reason for him leaving Ducati, in addition to the big one in Rossi joining The interview with Stoner on BBC before the race was interesting, particularly his comment about always wanting to be in the HRC Team and they are the best etc. He likes his little digs doesn't he
