if you rock up in a van and then sleep in a tent, then there's clearly something a bit wrong with you (like having a house in spain but living most of the year at your holiday home in preston ) - we'll just be using the main central hub bit immediately next to the van (some people even extend one of the overhangs over their sliding door to make it into a proper awning)..

We'll have the rock'n'roll bed in by then though so will still be proper vw campers

I understand having a detachable awning to extend the van. It makes sense to make it so you've less fuss if you want to drive off somewhere (no need to pack the kitchen stuff away every day etc). but this sir isnt an awning - its a tent so you'd have a car with a bed in the back and a tent. Not a camper van with awning.

Actually I was in the gym and would have sounded like some kind of phone sex pest if I'd have answered hence why I didn't - was gonna ring you back later but was knackered & went to my bed..

The van is spacious enough to sleep in, but when you're in and out during the day - I kept having to move boxes of cooking stuff/cleaning stuff/clothes etc. around the van to make space for getting changed. This would be ideal for sticking said boxes of stuff in & leaving there for the weekend. Also, when cooking on the gas camping stove the wind kept whipping round and blowing the flame out, one of these would solve that all being well.. And on and evening we sat outside watching the stars but it was freezing, even with windbreakers doing their bit, so we could always stick the little fan heater in the awning with the window unzipped to see out of

Point remains, its a van parked next to a tent.

you strange and insane idiot - those are CARAVAN awnings, NOT motorhome or camper awnings

Anybody who uses those aint got any friends, and i sure hope they aint got any kids
