Not so, I like both though I do sway far more to the dog side when it comes to pet ownership. I'll happily fuss and look after those of others but YC's allergies prevent us from ever being subjected to being owned by a cat

Answer, unless you want your pet to end up in a pie. Please keep it under control.

Legal ramifications of destroying out of control pets that have become a hazard?*
Can you trap the little f***ers if they're in your garden and have them checked for a chip, and if not, then destroyed?

*A cat in my kitchen would be considered a health hazard and would not be leaving as one part.

Stretchie is allergic too. There is a cat in our local though that is basically our Stig, in cat form. Even Stretchie can't help fussing him. He's called tripod as he is missing a leg...so he loves using my nails as a scratching post

Still doesn't make it right that others should go to the effort or alter their property.

If I don't want to grease my fences, I shouldn't have to. End of.

Cats are not wildlife...they are pets and the owners need to be responsible for them!

"Cats are not wildlife..."
Thay are still not properly domesticated .The BBC show said as much.
If you realy hate it that much and its affecting you report it to the council ,with the letter and the local warden will take it up with the owners.
If they can't modify its behavior they will seek to re home or have it destroyed.

Looks like under the law cats are considered as property so there could be criminal damage if you shoot them knowing that they are not feral. If you have previously reported it as someones cat this would show prior knowledge.

RSPCA might do you if you cause unneccesary suffering.

What about trapping them and invoicing the owners for a substantial "removal fee" if they want the mog back?

That is the owners problem, not an excuse for it.

Have said enough times now that this is from another forum, not affecting me directly so I have nothing to report.

No, cats are not wild. They may not be properly domesticated yet, but that is irrelevant. Cats are not the problem, I have nothing against cats.

Being not fully domesticated only serves to beg the question of why they are allowed to roam freely at all. As cats are allowed to, should we then allow pet pythons to roam freely? Silly argument that on,y proves to serve itself.

If you buy or give a home to any animal, you should be responsible for it. If it disturbs others, it should be you that deals with it, not the people being disturbed.

I don't want any cats to be destroyed and if that happened because an owner refused to keep it contained, well that owner should be banned from having any animals as the death would be on their hands, nobody elses.

i have 2 cats and 1 dog as soon as i found out the cats were annoying the neighbours by leaving prezzies in their gardens i decided to make the cats house cats they now have no intention of actually going outside and have their own room with toilet etc, just easier to keep cats in i think plus i dont worry that they are going to be hit by a car or shot, and the dog is just the dog
