In that case your first post about it seems rather pointless and means you are derailing a rather serious topic with nothing more than a sentence with no meaning other than the fact that you have responsed to yet another thread with nothing of any value to add to the topic and for no other purpose than for the fact that you get another notch up the post count.

you were right to report accident but they would breath alise him anyway would they not, isnt it routine after an accident. just as well you were paying attention though or he could have taken you out too. cant believe people still drink and drive. Hope he heals quick though for his court appearance to have his licence taken off him

Well in all honesty I don't think the police would have attended had I not stopped and called them, as he hit nothing apart from the barrier so there was no real need for the police to be involved or any real reason for anyone to call them. I noticed that the car that passed on the inside of me when I stopped had his mobile in his hand, although he didn't stop or anything, just kept on going. But that's another story.

Absolutely agree. I'd have done precisely the same, and for the same reasons.

As i have just had rightly pointed out to me. Rather than posting the above with the intention of degrading me on a public forum, surely you would be better served using the pm system.

the law should be zero units of alcohol for driving no excusses and no exeptions
No it shouldn't, and there are very good reasons why this isn't the case.
care to elaborate? (I choose not to drink, and think twice about getting into/onto a vehicle with anyone that has been drinking in moderation, but recognise that there is a limit)

yes what are these very good reasons? i cant think of any
Sure. The point of an alcohol limit isn't to prevent alcohol being in the blood stream - it's to prevent us being unfit to drive. And I'd rather not be thrown into the slammer with the same guy who's just been caught behind the wheel after 10 pints, just because I had a slice of alcoholic Tiramisu last chrismas.

The alcohol limit should be lowered, but being 0 is pointless.

What he said, apart from the lowering bit. Its stupid to say the limit should be zero, youd get people being done for drink driving after using mouth wash, etc. and ive read that asthma inhalers can radically change the results of a breathalyzer test

Ive had one can tonight at my girlfriends then rode home.....quick lock me up the only thing I would say though is if youre only having one then why bother? Only reason I had it is because my gf's dad insisted I joined him for one not like beers the sweetest tasting thing ever. If youre having a session leave the bike at home, otherwise I dont bother at all if im riding

I dont think people are unfit to drive after 2 pints, but that should be the absolute maximum and think is a sensible level. Anyone unfit to drive after 2 must be a cheap date!
