Considering that this IS a budget bike and so asking for performance hikes, adjustable components and stuff like that is foolish, I would like to see a couple of non perfomance orientated changes.
The first is a new radiator, one that is deep rather than wide, because so many people seem to wreck them on a drop (me included, with my patented banana shaped radiator). The second is a different exhaust (why is the standard one three times the price of some aftermarket ones, that give more power and are considerabely smaller?). Lastly, I'd like better bungie points on the pillion handle, because the ones right now are crap. |

I would make three body styles: naked, half and full. Also 2 engine versions: the normal 72hp version and one with about 105hp (could be more but would prolly require different bore/stroke so too expensive). I want a curvy body style back and an equally beautiful very rigid frame. Oh and figure out a better looking fender. If they can get off weight, great if not no biggy. They may up capacity, but no biggy either.
Combine the engine and body options would give: SV650 (4.399,-): naked body, normal 72hp engine and relatively cheap suspensions parts SV650S (4.599,-): Half body, normal 72hp engine and relatively cheap suspensions parts SV650SR (5.799,-): Half body, slightly double bubble, about 105hp engine, USD forks, better and more striking swingarm, better rear shock, 170 or 180 rear tire and improved brakes SV650R (5.999,-): Full body, slightly double bubble, about 105hp engine, USD forks, better and more striking swingarm, better rear shock, 170 or 180 rear tire and improved brakes Make the DB and normal screen interchangeable.

Seeing as this has been dredged up, and after reading all the above, if I was Mr Suzuki I wouldn't change a thing.

If I was Mr Suzuki I wouldn't change a thing either, it'd cost money and hit the bottom line.
![]() I'm not though, and (sorry Scoobs) I have forgotten the SV is a budget bike, so... - 1000cc engine on all SVs - "Proper" fully faired option - Clipons that raise or lower dependent on engine speed (overridable though) so you get better control when going slow - 125kg wet weight - 180+ rear tyre cos it looks cool ![]() - Carbon fibre wheels - Satnav - SS600 handling - Seat cowl that can be flipped over and becomes pillion seat - Paint that absolutely never, ever chips or marks Hmm can't think of any more. Though the single sided swingarm is a nice touch ![]() |

Some better suspension, some better brakes (four piston, please?) and maybe stainless steel downpipes.
That seems like a better progression rather than designing a whole new SV (SV650R idea? Na...suzuki have a fast middlewight bike, thats the gsxr) Matt |

Yes, a 4 cylinder one and so does, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha. However, no one has a real sporty smaller twin except for Ducati's 749. Not everyone wants an extremely peaky and high revving 4 as a sports bike. Look at all the people that have been converting their SV650S', I don't think they only chose a modded SV650S because it's cheaper they also like the character of a twin.
