If there is a line here, would someone please point it out because I'm missing it.
lol, i just wish when bikes got stolen in fact all they were doing was copying it and you still had your bike...
What, like when someone copies your number plate, and proceeds to drive through a load of speed cameras, so that you get a whole load of hassle trying to prove that it's not you?
yup, like that

but in all seriousness, i'm trying to say that you can't compare them, much as you can't compare these crimes + speeding. maybe you're one of the few that support the whole anti-speeding argument, but most people don't, meaning your quote could equally read:

"What are you lot like? Someone posts that their bike has been stolen, and there are loads of posts expressing disgust and hopes that the criminals will be caught/castrated, yet you are all quite happy to break the speed limit."

I'd hope most people would argue against that (yourself included ) - but then, i don't support the theory that speed is the sole root cause of accidents like the camera partnerships do!

Intellectual property and electronic theft will never be considered in the same way as physical theft and crime in the human mind. I just got an awesome electronic manual for my bike off eBay but would never even consider taking one off a shelf!

Get a load of the people who embezzle millions and then get 2 years in a holiday camp too.

I really like that emoticon
I stand corrected - but if you note the EU Copyright directive gives scope for this to be legislated into law allowing private use. And reality is provided Im not distributing these files or sharing them [which Im not] and I have the legal copy Im not going to get my door kicked in any time soon. Not when theres others here who have got stuff without ever having bought a copy in the first place. :P
Unfortunately even then I'll bet all the DRM crew will give it a bloody good go at suing yo ass since the only thing people are more hell bent on nicking than speeding is bloody music 'piracy' as if there aren't more important issues at hand...... like Hovi's dress sense.
