I wear a skin top. A t-shirt. A long sleeve sweat top, a fleece and then a waterproof. Shorts and track suit bottoms. Gloves.

I like to sweat.

Great news Ed. Time doesn't matter, it is the fact that you did it and enjoyed it that counts

I thought it was too good to be true. I drove the route and found I was just under half a mile short. So it makes it more like 9.30 - 9.45 miling. Ah well, I still enjoyed it hugely. Onwards and upwards.

Sorry to read about your knee Si. Rest up sounds good to me.

I did another 8 miles this evening. I have to say the last two miles were a struggle. I felt like I plodded round the whole way. So when I checked the clock on getting back I was very surprised to find I actually did a better time than yesterday by 5 minutes.

My knee was giving me all the wrong signs toward the end of the run. I think its about time I listened. I was going to have a day of rest tomorrow and bash out a half marathon on Sat. I've decided against that and will now rest up until I do my lunch time 4 mile fast run on Monday.

Oh well.
At least you are listening to your body Simon. Giving it time to rest and heal is not a bad thing you know. How were the blisters on your run this evening? Another 8 miles and bettering your time, is pretty darn good. Just make sure that you do rest so you can continue with your running.

After two days off I went out tonight and did the normal 1.5 miles, got home and caught my breathe, then did another mile. I think after a few more runs I'll try to do the whole thing in one go

So am I. Often a banana, anything that comes to hand though

You're doing really well. Keep at it! Before you know it you'll be doing 3, 4 miles - it's like everything else, getting started is the hard bit.

I eat anything I can get my hands on - when I'm at work that is normally a microwave rice with a pot noodle dumped on top of it!

I am never hungry straight after a run no matter how far I go , more thirsty than anything else.
