Re: F1 Racing Thread
I agree that the fact they have resigned and will now not contest the whole matter proves that they are guilty, however apparently Piquet and Symonds have been offered immunity from prosectution by the FIA if they tell them what happened.
Will be interesting to see if Ferrari still want Alonso though, as effectively Massa loosing that race could have cost the championship... |

Re: F1 Racing Thread
Are Renault/Symonds/Briatore likely to get massive fines aswell as any other punishment?
Wouldn't be surprised if a deal has already been signed TBH. If it's proven he didn't have an involvement with the fixing i know i'd still want Alonso in my team. I'd have him over any other driver on the grid i think.

On that note, does anyone else really want Barrichello to edge the title this year? I'd love to see him win it.

Re: F1 Racing Thread
I agree, if it wasn't for Trulli's very sudden slow in pace he would have had it. Hamilton is defiantly champion material though, hes proven that by being within the championship twice. anyway thats another discussion...

Re: F1 Racing Thread
the thing with racing though is that there are always 'what-ifs' that lead to controversial outcomes. Cant really take anything away from Hamilton, he drove hard and pulled it off. He can only race against the situation current in the championship.
Alonso won by apparent cheating but we dont really know the true outcome of that race had the crash not occured. Hamilton totally deserves his position in my opinion. As for Barichello vs Button, may the best man win. |

Re: F1 Racing Thread
Most f1 reams cheat they allow one driver to pass another in order to gain an advantage. Ok it is now "against the rules" but cmon is that rule really fooling anyone.

Re: F1 Racing Thread
Thats a rediculous rule anyway, its a team after all, not a race car service provider. If they should not be allowed to use their drivers and cars strategically then they should be allowed only one driver.
