The use of a HTTP compatible proxy would stop a trace dead in it's tracks. I connect via proxy virtually by default for most things (though not the .Org). Essentially, I hit a button, and my IP changes.

I'm starting to feel all pretty sad about this now...but sad for another human being. I've just had a PM from Squirrel_Hunter which has opened my eyes a bit about another minor way in which he seems to have pulled the wool over our eyes, but he can post that himself.
It still leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth though.

If someone has done something wrong, hurt people, caused distress and so on and they have done it out of spite or a desire to cause hurt to others, then I'd try and help but not care too much.

This just increasingly strikes me as being someone who is leading a really sad and empty life. I've been through a period where I've been on my own, no friends, living in the middle of nowhere for a year and a bit and I can tell you...it's no fun. Luckily I have a fab family and ended up getting the last laugh over those that turned out to be carp friends and I have a whole life full of new friends now.

This individual, I become more and more convinced is not laughing at us all (as I said myself waaaay back), I think he's probably in the complete opposite state of mind and I don't wish that kind of life or existence on anyone. No matter the anger he may have caused on here...I can forgive that if someone apologises and I just get the feeling if he can read this...he is feeling really sorry. Not least because so many people have been so upset by it all in the early stages.

DD.....if you're out there, get up from your desk, leave your computer and go for nice long walk to clear your head and think about things. Don't hate yourself, but realise that what you've done is just plain dishonest and hurtful and then draw a line under it. Find a new hobby, join a real club or go see your GP and tell him/her what you've done and let them help you.

If I'm wrong...so be it, but I'd rather be optimistic and have hope for this person than sit here in judgement any longer!

Lol...I'm well over that now and it's a loooong story. All those friends tried to apologise eventually, but they clearly weren't real friends in the first place. Then I met Stretchie and the SWSurfers/Taffia and made a load of fab new friends which in turn, helped me be me and go out and make a load of other new friends as well.

I truly do love this place and a lot of the people in it.

Oh and to answer your question...on the weekend of August 6th next year, I'll have approximately 3 acres of space and food and drink is sorted...so see you there xxx

Alternatively come back on here (if indeed you ever left) and continue to make the useful contributions that gained you so many friends in the first place, only this time lets keep your personal circumstance a bit more in perspective. People liked you not because of what you claimed to do for a living, they liked you for what you posted, and within boundaries there's no reason that should change. If you have a conscious you might want to apologize to those you really upset but we've all come away from this experience a little wiser and appreciative of each other so in the long run I'd like to suggest there is no harm done.

I was very close to writing that myself, but thought I'm PM it to him...only I can't.

I don't think there are many people in this world that aren't able to give their forgiveness and understanding in most situations when a genuine apology is made. Those that can't forgive others are the ones that I really do feel sorry for.

Doesn't offend me and he could well be that kind of person...in which case, +1 to the above.

But if he isn't...and he's a sad and lonely person who could only make friends this way....well, I feel sorry for him.
