Re: Vintage film cameras
Not what you want to see when you open up and under water camera. Paid a few pounds for this Fuji XP somethings or other as it was listed as not powering up. I wonder why... Plus side is I can use the power button from this one to replace the bodged one on my other XP.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I think the battery/sd door leaked. There was corrosion on the battery contacts as well as the main board. Screen seems to be ok though but I have no way of testing it. The ribbon cable socket for the GPS unit fell off the main board as well. Have you tested out yours yet?

Re: Vintage film cameras
I submerged it in the sink earlier! It's working fine and in immaculate condition, so I doubt it's been used in the sea. The buttons are easy to press; my older Vivitar one has quite sticky buttons ever since its first dunk in the oggy, despite long soaks in fresh water. It comes with a small tub of silicone to lube the O-ring on the battery door, but there's no way to reach the buttons, they need it! Annoyingly the XP needs you to open the battery/SD card door to recharge it. I know it would have needed a hole in it somewhere to do so, but I do wonder if it's a weak point in the design. I don't believe it has GPS though? A quick google says the much older models do (XP30) but mine doesn't, odd.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I think my busted one was an XP30. You can buy a separate usb charger for them and just eject the battery rather than undoing the smaller fold down flap.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well at least they got rid of that silly feature. One seal on the side instead of two.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Decided to finally get rid of my VW project van. I've had it nine years and no closer to getting it done. Plus side is my wife said the extra space in the massive car port will be freed up for more motorcycles...
I've also had a little clear out of cameras, Chinon CE-4, Centon DF300, a couple of beer can cameras and a bunch of lenses.
