There could be some fuel issues here, however I repeat from an earlier post. Casey stated that his rear tyre was not giving him good grip for the first quarter of the race,he therefore could not push it.Once he felt happier with it......well the result shows us.
Rossi's gorilla type braking late, was probably the main factor for his deteriorated front tyre. |

How would you explain Melandri being so far back? Surely someone might have told him: "Look, just crack the throttle wide open, let the tc work and you'll find the 2 seconds+ you're losing to Casey and we'll have the two bikes near the pointy end again".

Lets face it, has anybody been able to ride that 2nd factory Duke well... has anybody ridden a factory Duke as well as Casey does..
The only person that got close was Baylis IMHO. Theres lots of weird stuff to do with fueling, Pedrosa ran out on the warm down lap and had to be pushed down pitlane.

Also in terms of style he just seemed to get on that 990 and ride the wheels of the thing, he seemed to revell in it, he wasnt afraid of it either, just like Casey isnt, did you seem him fighting the thing during qualifying. Sete and Loris dont ride the same way, they look afraid to open the throttle ( I probably would be to !!! ) As for Marco, I'm hoping he can turn it round.

Put em all on the same bike same settings one weekend, see who comes out top then, I still think with the confidence he has and how I hate to say it, Casey would come out top IMO. He is thriving with confidence at the moment IMO. He makes a bike work to his preference not the bike working him. Remember the KTMs a few years back in 250 was it...He bought the development of them on...
