It took me a long time to gel with the VFR on stock Bridgestones, as it was a new bike I could not put my finger on what it was. Maybe it was the tyres....

Hmmmmmm *strokes beard* an interesting combo. I'm not getting huge mileage out of my rear Storms, so at least the Viper front would wear out at the same rate....

I will check that when I get home - quite amazing to have that much wear after only 4000 miles!

Apparently to make the 'Bird feel as sporty as possible they are the tyres to go for - a couple of guys who do track days regularly (on a 'Bird?! ) swear by them.

My thoughts exactly and you can see by the size of my chicken strips I'm not Valentino! I've just emailed Bridgestone for their thoughts and I'm going to give the tyre shop a call, too.

Are they the old compound or the new one?

They're the old ones.

I've just called the tyre shop and they've had loads of complaints about this exact problem but Bridgestone are not owning up to it. The new compound is supposedly much better but I'm still £95 lighter so no more Bridgestones for me after this

Bridgestone

Actually, I might change both and sell the rear.

Surprisingly, Bridgestone have replied. Unsurprisingly, they have:

They said I can return the tyre for examination and a report will be generated but I won't be holding my breath for an honest response.

You should ask them why they changed the tyre compound and why so many people complain that the original batch were crap........and why in some instances they have replace oddly worn tyres.

Just done exactly that, G!

I'm not holding my breath for a refund or anything but it's a really poor show when a manufacturer the size of Bridgestone can't be man enough to admit it's produced a sub-standard product and hold their hands up.
