How about a GPZ500? Based on an ER-5 and all the riding schools know how reliable they are, but with the bonus of a bit of fairing. I had one before my SV and actually made money on it when I sold it too. So it ticks the cheap and reliable boxes, surely fun is down to what you do with it?
