Tried 4 unevenly spaced magnets and when it's working it seems relatively accurate (well, feels accurate). Does anyone know how I can calculate what speeds just under 4k in 3rd gear, 5k in 3rd gear and 9k in 5th gear should be on standard 650s gearing?

However is would randomly stop working for ages then kick in again, wondering if this is a lose connection as it seemed to be movement related i.e slowing for roundabouts or giving it a handful (enough to lift the front end).

Any help would be appreciated

(let me know if this is spoiling this thread and I'll delete and start my own)

Seems accurate enough, just need to know why it stops working every now and then now. Thinking it's down to the hall effect sensor

How dodgy can it be it's 3 pairs of wires soldered together? Worth a check I guess...

Only other thing I can think of is the magnets might be too close. It happened me when I forgot to put the spacing washers back in, and the readings were all over the place

the mags are probably about 10-12mm away, I thought of this too but the speedo actually hits zero for about 5 minutes then will just suddenly seem to work again - wasn't sure if it would cause this. Might add some more washers just incase.
