![]() Naaa back in those days they wernt pushed like they were towards the end of the WSB days. back then they were about 160bhp at the wheel I believe and the 999 last year was 195bhp and rev'd to about 15K rpm! The SP's had 98x66mm bore and stroke (standard is 97x67.5mm) to allow it to rev and all the cams and drive train was upgraded to rev higher. The SP road bikes were the full on WSB spec engine, cosworth bling so should be able to run higher revs resonably hapily. ![]() Quote:
No indeed not. Any idea what it was putting out? I guess back then there wernt as many Dyno's available? |

Yes most of the V990's suffer with this. Some new end cans and a Eprom has solved mine now. ![]() How does the 800 compair (from memory) to the SP? |

The 800 is easier to flick from side to side, but then the SV is about 20-25kg lighter (I should way the 800 really). The midrange is not as strong as the SP, but there is no substitute for cubes. Handling wise, well the isn't much in it to be honest as both bikes were set up for my riding style (front end rider).
If I could walk into a shop and buy either of the two.... ![]() ...the SP would get the first deposit for a non-emotionally attached bike. The 800 is worth more to me than any other bike, not in money, we have an emotional attachment as I have spent years in building the bike around me. |

Aye thats fair enough. ![]() I need to make the front a bit softer (softer springs) to make it feel better because Im more a front end rider too. Its a shame bikes when you buy them arnt setup for you (spring weights etc), not that that would help me... but still would be good. |

![]() People that like to push the front end in corner's, some people prefer to get the weight on the back wheel. At least thats what it means to me. Quote:
