Yeah, I'm OK - they do it all at once, seems to generally be between around 9am and 12pm. Unless you sit near the person (so you can hear the call/see them being escorted out) you kinda just see people disappearing. It's never officially announced who's gone, all whispers and rumours and "ooh did you know...?"...

Haha...well, yes true.

dependin on my fluorescence melt which should finish in the next half hour it could be a very good day. Might actually have some research work!

Well I am glad you survived the redundancies, must be sad to see colleagues go though. However, it is nearly the weekend!

Thanks...I am glad too, they have been quite harsh with the cuts this year. I've been here 4 years now (since Nov 15th 2004) and in the first almost-3 years or so they had 1 cut of 5% (kind of a regular 'chopping off the bad bits'). Since August 2007 when the subprime market started crashing, they have been going through them like they're going out of fashion - this is the 3rd in my department this year!

Anyhoo, still here, at least it pays for the bikes
