+1. I use YC's footpeg if the bike's packed with luggage as the panniers are usually in the way of the pillion pegs

Hold the clutch in when pillion is getting on.

MYC is not a shortrse, but there's no way anyone who isn't a total genetic freak would be able to get on bike when it's got full panniers etc without some sort of step-up.

I went on my mates VFR750 (pillion) and he gunned it up the bypas and I was holding on for dear life... was funny but my feet wouldnt stay on the pegs cos of the gear changes and the changes in the forces all the time. LOL. Would have been easier though if id held on to him I guess.
Yeah i did haha, When John spead up i didnt know what to hold onto - i didnt want to put both my arms round him incase he braked and i went into the back of him so i just kept my hands on the tank, good thing was i could stop tensing so much!

He did say that was what i needed to do, but its weird, im right handed so i always use that hand/arm and i couldnt get comfetable with having my left hand on the tank and right around him because my left arm doesnt seem as strong, and vice versa if it was the other way!
Last time i ever went on a bike was a little hairdryer moped lol,but that had a rail to hold onto which i found more comftable. :s

Best to try and keep your eye on the road as much as possible if not all the time, that way you know just what's coming up and don't get any nasty shocks!***

*** I apologise if this seems obvious lol!
No its all good, the more advice the better otherwise ill just keep doing the same thing!
It was awkward sometimes cause when lylej went over bumps i slide forward and have to rearrange my feet on the pegs also. So should i just dig my legs in at the side basically?

When i was younger and i pillioned with my dad i used to sit relax and look around, hands on knees you don't need to know whats coming up just flow with the bike. You won't fall off, well not unless you jump that is
Haha, I headbutted John a couple times i think, but i dont think he noticed it wasnt that hard...

Its just practice, it'll feel weird for a bit till you get used to it. Theres some stuff called triboseat he can get to put on the pillion seat that'll also stop you sliding about, if he hasnt already get him to get some of that.

Another product might be worth looking at is called lovehandles, its a belt he can wear round his waist, that has to handles on it you hold onto those instead of him, but that wont help with the braking issue.

The other solution and IMHO the best one is to get your own bike

I had to literally use my arm to lift my leg onto the peg on the daytona, it wasnt so bad getting off though!
Thought i might loose balance and just fall off, thankgod that didnt happen!

Yeah just squeeze your thighs in on braking and accelerating, helps loads. Once you get used to it you won't be so conscious of where you're hands are going, can be sat in your lap, on your knees or round his waist.

Basically you just need to have a few more rides and you will soon get used to what's most comfortable for you
