Quiff

Have you got a 600 or 750? Either way I don't think a 749S will keep you entertained as long as a nice 999S - OK, the normal 999 is alright too. Nice to ride and comfy enough. The 848 is not comfy at all even for 20 minutes on the road but I'm sure I'd like it on track.

Watch your print out doesn't run over your covers tonight or you may have some explaining to do in the morning

He's got a 750 like wot I got. I'm lucky I can ride the 749S and my GSXR750 back to back and I reckon it'll keep him entertained, Its not got the same peak BHP, its about 30bhp at the crank down, but on the road, theres not alot between them, in fact the 749S really scores coming off roundabouts and out of corners as you can use the torque to get on the power earlier, whereas the GSXR you need to get it up onto the fat bit of the tyre before you can really open it up.

But once you get the GSXR into its stride then it leaves the 749 behind, thats assuming that the 749 hasnt got out of the corner faster than you in the first place...

Also I reckon you'd do the GSXR under braking as the brembos on the 749S are fantastic.

I'd like to test ride a 999S though just to see what its like.

Quiff, just out of interest why do you want a Duc? Is it the name, the mid corner stability or just a return to a V-twin? Just curious...

For me it was a bit of all of the above. I like twins, I like the name (sad I know) and I binned my SV so more cornering ability wouldn't hurt!
