fair enough, were they routinely stopping bikes or did they just pick on him?

well i've been to squires about 8 times ever, and only seen the police there about 2 or 3 times. They were parked up about half a mile up the road from squires pulling ALL sports bikes. I was on a honda cbf600 and they just waved me straight past. Luke & daz (gsxr 750 and r6 respectively) both got waved in, think they had a quick look at their tyres, numberplates & exhausts.

It was the middle of august and the weather was stunning, but with it being spring and the clocks going forward, they could be there on sunday for a "start of biker season" crackdown maybe?

Might just plonk the baffle in a mile up the road lol.

puts a jinx on me....

...I 've been going to Squires for some five years now, been to a wedding there too.
I've seen the police once(last time I met you DAve) just up the hill.
Suzy is not exactly quiet, and shes been past police further up on the A1.
I doubt yu have anything to worry about if your riding properly, and have everything legal(apart frm your can!)

ooo edit, they were in the carpark last year, but being friendly, doing a campaign or something

it was completely standard to be honest mate, the cbf looked a bit like this:

so not very sporty lol...

They just do blanket stops & checks on bikes through out the year. By parking up the road from a very busy meeting place for bikers, they can get 1-2 weeks worth of ticketing done, fill all their quota's and turnover a nice bit of cash all in one evening. Keeps their super's & commander's happy i guess. Also on a more positive note, if they're catching uninsured & unlicensed riders then I can only see that as a good thing

Speaking of keeping it legal - is there any reason why I can't chop my baffle down so it becomes a kind of "facia" i.e. looks like there's a baffle in there but it's actually been chopped down to reduce the baffling effect?

Just pondering (and derailing my own thread )

Yeah well no more sporty than my banana

There'd be no point mate if it's ridiculous then cops'll still do you for it but because you've mutated your baffle you have nothing to stick in it after they've fined you so they might seize it. And anyway even as just a fascia it'll still baffle it a bit so you'd be wanting it out anyway. I'm planning on just grinding some slits in mine (it will still kill db's) but to increase the airflow as it's ridiculous at the moment. Some baffles are designed with side slits anyway

they do a lovely steak tartare and a few other exquisite dishes with pancetta and calamari. For desert, eton mess or blamonge flambet al a' crouxiet je dure.... (can you tell I only ever did german at school?)

It's burgers & hotdogs, crisps or chocolate snacks and tea, coffee or pop on a wednesday. Apparently, they do a carvery on a sunday but I've yet to give it a try.
