Got home around 18:30, almost 10hrs after leaving home.

Cheers for an enjoyable day all - despite the weather at the start getting to Shrewsbury!

Slightly damp start, just a light shower, no more. Met christopher, rossi and Carlos at the Services, set off, met LP at Llynclys. Spike and Keith from the 675 site set off late, we met them later. It's such a terrific ride through the Tanat Valley and over the Berwyns to Bala, a slow BMW didn't spoil things, stopped at the Plas yn Dre for a coffee and cinnamon flavoured Welsh cakes (Mike declined - doesn't like cinnamon - neither do I but needs must) and then on the awesome road around Llyn Celin to Trawsfynydd. Not that much of a jam into Portmadog, so didn't have to filter more than a mile or so.

Very loud rumble rumble rumble - chris's and ross's bikes - chris's SV with a Yoshi, ross's SV with a Scorpion. Coincidentally the baffles had fallen out on the way to S'bury And Mike's Staintunes are pretty awesome

On to Pwllheli, sorry about that green Polo rossi (ross was right behind me when I aborted an overtake at the last nanosecond - must've had to brake hard). After finding nowhere to eat at the marina (v v disappointing) we found a fantastic deli and also a fish 'n' chippery, met up with Spike and Keith from the 675 site.

Back via P'dog (where Carlos, Spike and Keith left us) and then a terrific road that Mike knows which brought us out at the Penryn toll bridge, the old janner didn't want payment (it's 30p for a motorcycle) cos there was a pile of cars waiting to cross, Mike took the high road and we took the low road to Harlech, (he beat us too - and we weren't hanging around) and on into Barmouth. The view back across Cardigan Bay to the Lleyn Peninula is terrific, I was thinking 'yep, we've just ridden all down here'. Then back up the A494 to Bala - said goodbyes - I headed off back over the tops to S'bury. I had the Berwyns to myself, just me and the sheep. As you start to drop down into the Tanat valley, with the mountains all around and this tiny farm hundreds of feet below in the valley floor, it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth

Really good day, terrific riding, got back at 6.50pm, 232 miles Thank you, Chris, Ross, Carl, Mike, Spike and Keith!

I'm going to go back to Pwllheli and locate that good cafe that we couldn't find!

Sounds great Ed, Shame I missed it. I spent the day shopping in Wigan, collecting the bike bits, choosing chickens and slapping eight coats of polish and sealant on the panels.
