I suffered for years with a serious speech impediment that was eventually cured with speech therapy. Even now when I think back to how I sounded it makes me cringe. So thanks Mum forgiving me your Essex Twang!

Growing up in Germany at an Army school means I do not have much of an accent, or so I thought. Until my friend Emma came to stay and she ridiculed me for sounding like a country bumpkin. She has a soft Edinburgh accent and that is one that I always liked.

As for Carol, she grew up in Birmingham and moved to the South West as a Teenager. Her accent should be vile, but she actually has such a sexy voice, even her swearing (which she only does rarely unlike me because I am a common hussey) is endearing and the way she says S**t makes my heart melt.

I'm surprised you didn't acquire the army-brat accent we all had as kids. It's the same wherever the British are stationed all over the world... all the forces kids have the same god-awful accent

Stopping at shrigley hall near macclesfield, there's a bird from warrington working on the bar. It's not like the "do you want a flake in that bodingtons?" type accent, more like softly spoken diana vickers...

And girls from Dublin sound nice when they're often quite frightening. Sothern girls (aka posh) always do the trick as well.

Contrast that lot with a "Barnsley lass" or a gyal from east London, maybe even a lady from deepest, darkest Dudley in the midlands..

So is it just me? (prolly)

i deffo sound like the boddingtons girl - only wish i looked like hjer too !!!!!

i'm the same accents get my juices well and truly flowing !!! i love em

for me someone like daniel craig the way he talks - has to be deep voice and preferably southern but not geeeza southern and not posh either kind of in between !!!!

When I worked in the US (was there for a couple of years) the NZ/UK mix seemed to do the trick.
