Well... I got it and got it installed.

Obviously I had it installed before but now its all keyed up now...

Anyway, my 4 day review is this:

Its very good. My system seems smoother and much more stream lined, I know that a fresh install of windows will do this as well but I mean multi tasking seems to work soooo much better, its like its actually treating my 4 CPU cores as 4 cores and not as 1 big powerful core which is how it felt in XP...

Things like minimising my games and then opening them back up seems to work smoother and quicker. Though this might be down to the fact that the system seems to run a lot more stable now that im running 4GB of RAM as oppose to 3GB of RAM, something im not sure my Motherboard was too happy about

I have to say though that this much RAM is probably overkill, the most RAM my CPU/RAM usage gadget tells me im using is 40% so far... Means that with 2 Gig it would be coming a little close to full but still wouldnt matter really. 40% was while transfering files from an external HDD, itunes was sorting music as I added it all in and Half Life 2 running in the background!

Id certainly recommend the upgrade to anyone with a half way decent computer!

I have to admit Windows 7 has been better than I expected. I'm running the 64-bit version with a quad AMD processor and 4Gb and it's working a treat. The only issue I've seen was with my sister's HP multi-function printer/scanner that needed the driver re-installed before it would play nicely.

yeah I finally got round to playing with it, pretty sleek some nice little features, surprisingly smooth - however in a business environment I'm still not convinced. I get the distinct feeling ms only give a crap about their home market!

And someone remind me to enable virtualization next time I turn my machine off!
