I think that's where so many pillion miles has helped me...I have total faith in the tyres, just keep a hawk eye on the surface conditions/camber etc so I don't mess it up....I know the tyres will be fine on a good surface and when they're warmed up. Actually, yesterdays rideout was incredibly wet at times and the Avon vipers I have on the CBR did incredibly well and I even started leaning a little when I realised that I had the grip there. OMG though....I spent half the ride avoiding flowers and seeds from trees and diesel...lol

That's another area I could do with working on, quick changes in direction, again, confidence in my front end.

See this thread...

It goes into some detail on how your position affects this. I did this yesterday in the wet....just sat back in the seat, more than I was before and hunkered over the tank )not all the time, just through the twisties/roundabouts. As soon as I gripped with my knees, no weight going through my arms to the bars....made steering much lighter and easier and really worked a treat on the successive bends.

F = mv^2 / R

You do sums, you cannot turn without lean angle, however slight. Or you would fall off to the outside.

Push the bike down and sit on the side of the frame...makes it possible to turn the SV in a very small space...but probably not advisable for everyday!

If you are new rider personally I would say thinking about this is complete waste of time. Go ride proper corners. Nobody has died from bad U turn but a drystone wall will really ruin your day.

Proper corners are what you should be thinking about and trying to get your head around. (get head around, body and bike will follow)

I agree with that! You have to have some lean, hence the need to counterbalance, as you've minimal lateral forces keeping you upright!
