I've always found them tough to undo but Si's was uber tight, I think his theory about the previous owner may be correct.

It was rear brake on, steel bar wedged between the wheel and swing arm, two foot bar + bodged 1 foot extension, +2 fat barstewards jumping on it uber tight!

Had it been undone before? Only ask as I had Spannerman increase my gearing by going up a tooth at the front and although his air-ratchet-thingy got the OE* nut off (with me leaning on the brake lever) the nut was badly formed and did not want to go back on. Thankfully he had a replacement but I'll bet it's not the only dud that causes grief and stupid torque to get on/off.


*the GSX had only covered 1300 miles at the time so it was unlikely to have been touched after factory assembly.

By the way i have a huge socket + breaker bar set so you guys dont need to bringing anything (except Simon's DID rivet link thing)
