Or you could always press the bell "call for assistance" Then they have to come out and fill your tank for you while you sit there :P

Aren't people with crash helmets at banks a common sight e.g. security guards..
Security guards wear open face protection and, more imnportantly, uniforms uniforms. Bike lids are exactly as welcome as balaclava helmets would be for incredibly obvious reasons. You can't seriously think it makes sense to allow people to completely hide their identity in a bank can you?
I have no problem with removing a helmet in a bank, aside from the obvious security considerations, you're likely to talk to a teller and it's going to be slightly longer/more involved than you saying, 'Pump 4' and handing over a tenner and just nodding to whatever they say. The reason I don't believe it's rude to 'talk' to petrol stations attendants is that there is no conversation as such. If there were no other bikes on the forecourt, you could quite reasonably complete the transaction without saying a word.

was once asked to pay before i've put any petrol in... " we've had lots of bikes drive off without paying".

me " well now you've had one drive off without putting any petrol in... i'll go to the garage opposite"

pleased to say the garage has gone bust.

Have only had them refuse to turn the pumps on at Sainsburys so took a walk over to the office and was met halfway by the operator who said 'Sorry, we had some kids on mopeds do a runner las week... I've turned it on now.' If I had made it to the office before he realised his gross error in judgement I would have considered causing a scene along the lines of 'Does that look like a f*****g moped and do I look like a f*****g NED?'

On a slightly different note am a bit ****ed with Morrisons because you now have to put £1 deposit for a trolley, which I don't always have on me. I only have a bike for transport so even if I am only buying 5 items I will use a trolley so that I can put my lid/gloves in it rather than wander around with my lid in one hand and basket in another and have to put one or both on the floor when I pick something up. I undestand that they are trying to prevent theft etc but find it inconvenient and shop elsewhere.

You can get those imitation £1 coins made out of metal. Think theyre called trolleytokens. Come with designs on them and you just click them back onto your keyring when youre done shopping

Here ya go

Dont know how much they are, hoping theyre a quid!!!

I'd be massively grateful if my clients never spoke to me

I always used to remove my Lid because I thought I had too but the places I use don't mind me leaving it on.

I always thought those stickers saying not crash helmets were funny, like a group of armed robbers are going to get to the door and say "We aren't allowed to wear our helmets in here, best leave it then" and walk off. Strangely I haven’t seen a no balaclavas sticker.
