Policeman came round today to drop the stuff off that I had left at the training place... he also dropped the bikesafe pack off... so even tho i crashed I still get a certificate

About the bike... I got a bolt and locknut from work today, while eating dinner got the old rubber foot of the snapped off peg and sqeezed it onto the new bolt.. I then proceeded to try and drill a hole in the gear select arm without much sucess so i havnt got my bike sorted tonight

Will see if i can get one of the guys down in the work shops to do it for me tomorrow

Is it normal to do this while eating dinner?

Have you managed to get the gear selector off cos it's easy to drill when off.

Decided to be lazy and stick a peice of wood behind it and drill while attached to the bike... that didnt work as i couldnt keep the drill straight and it was all over the place :P decided to take it off but cant find a C clamp anywhere in the house... first time ive needed one since i moved out of parents place and there used to be 3 in every draw there (dads and carpenter / joiner)

Ok, I'm rather stupid and not mechanically minded so what are you planning to do with a clamp?

Clamp a bit of wood to the lever to stop from accidentally drilling through the frame, i'd guess? Way, way easier to get it off the bike.
