It is just as easy, and as far as I can tell doesnt cost any more than doing a restricted licence test...

Im really glad I did the full test in one go, I would hate to be restricted...

I wouldn't take the risk myself, just like I never exceed the speed limit just in case

Move to the US. I have never heard of such a restriction. Then you won't have to worry about it !!

You're all missing the point - Don't Crash I have experimented with crashing and have concluded that it is not fun

Does this topic come up often on the ZZR1400 forums?

Hi All,

First post having just become a Curvy owner after trading in the FZR400RRSP that served me very well.

I've picked up a 2000 (650sy) bike and although It's taken a few days to get used to a little bit more buzz through the bars and a lot more torque, I'm settling in well.

I bought it because it was absolutely standard. Its always good to know where you start a journey instead of trying to find out where you came from when you're half way there.

Anyway, In going through the full service history, I found an interesting bill reciept. on a bill from 2005 it states "Fit restrictor Kit".

And on checking with the previous owner they don't know whether the kit is still in place or not.

Now I haven't pushed it that hard this week but it seems at least on par with my FZR 400 RRSP but this may be down to the extra torque I'm not used to.

Now before we have to repeat all of the above, I *am* legally licenced to ride derestricted bikes (because I passed my test too long ago to remember) so can anyone tell me *exactly* how to check if the bike is restricted or not? What should I be looking for? par numbers? Placements? etc?

Thanks and I look forward to reading through the rest of the forum and site over the coming days.

Cheers me Dears,
Carl

Big washers between carbs and heads, or different carb slides... Can't remember whether they are the ones with holes or without, but a search will reveal all!

Welcome to the madhouse BTW

Indeed, I passed my test when I was 18 so didn't have the option of going the unrestricted route
