Re: Vintage film cameras
You might be able to just remove the spring clip anyway, i've got two super silettes with that, I'd remove it too, the super ikonta IV is the same

Re: Vintage film cameras
The spring lever is at the 3 o clock position when you looking at the front of the camera. Looks like the lens has some fungus, and maybe the bellows too on the inside. Yeah, grainy!

Re: Vintage film cameras
The fungus was my worry too, but I wasn't sure if it was just a bad photo. I can always contact the seller later on if need be.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well that was quick! The lens is clear thankfully and the shutter is firing well. The rangefinder patch could be better but it usable. The wind lever only advances the film and unlocks the double exposure lock, you still have to set the shutter on the top. Thw shutter speed dial and the aperture dial are linked but easy enough to use and adjust. There is a misfold in the bellows which I am trying to correct, basically pushing it back to where it should be and closing the front which folds everything up tightly. Its improved a bit but still sags slightly. Surprisingly hefty little camera and another tick off my list.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Looks nice! The wind lever is nice but seems odd without auto frame spacing.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I haven't read the manual yet so unsure if it has auto frame spacing. I've managed to track down a never-ready case but I will need to find the mask. I did a deal for the Nikon F but because the AE1 I sent them went faulty they are sending it back. I opted for a 1964/1965 F with early style Photomic finder and a 50mm f2 instead of the f1.4. Only thing really left in my want list is a Pen F.

Re: Vintage film cameras
That's a very characterful Seagull. What year is it, any idea?
The Pen F will be a slippery slope. Another series of lenses to accumulate. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I don't know the exact year, range from 1962 to 1977. Apparently similar to a Soviet Iskra.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Just found out from the helpful Facebook people that the Seagull camera has the masks for 6x4.5 built in, they fold out from where the film spools sit. My Nikon F should be here tomorrow, it has been collected by DPD from WYC. I had a chat with Mike and Howard about the gear I sent. Good bunch if a little busy!
