Re: Vintage film cameras
Cheers, I'll take a look at that app.
Hard to see exactly on the SRT, it's the black version but after prodding with a pin, it looks like you're right. Old plastic. Have you used Fomapan before? I've never tried it but I've a roll of Kosmo Photo mono which is supposed to come from the same factory. I bought it at WYC a while back to try something different and because the packaging is cute. It needs to go in a Russian camera I think. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've shot a couple of rolls, but I don't have anything to hand. It's not as grainy as HP5 and has quite an even tone. The Kosmo Foto stuff is made by Foma for Kosmo, it's Fomapan 100. I actually kept the box from mine as it's pretty cool. The only way to sort the wind bit is another lever or just live with it. The black SRTs are very uncommon.

Re: Vintage film cameras
i think I'll live with it for the moment unless I can figure out a fix. A black rewind lever will be hard to find.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Extremely, I've been looking for one for my black srt. I had to fit a chrome one. I'm wondering if I could get one anodised or something.
I've been flicking the Analogue Wonderland website, got some nice films I would love to try. They do have some really cool retro Fomapan film packs. I didn't realise how expensive Kodak Ektar 100 has gotten, its now about £15 a roll. As much as I love the look of it its unlikely I'll buy it again. The have some Kentmere black and white for a really good price. My Gossen light meter arrived today, I had no idea how big it was going to be!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Funny you should say that, I was looking at film tonight too but on the Firstcall site. I've a hankering to try Rollei Retro s and it's fairly cheap there, as is the Kentmere. Postage is expensive though so it's only worth it if you buy a good few rolls.
My last roll of Ektar was £8.99 I think. Everything seems to have gone up recently. Probably Brexit and the outstanding trade deal. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've heard Kentmere is pretty dire, if you want cheap then Fomapan is probably the way to go. I've only shot with FP4 in mono though, which is very nice

Don't know what AW postage is like. They have so many odd films.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Which version of Kentmere is that? Might have to try a roll.

Re: Vintage film cameras
It's the 400, used in a Minolta X500. I liked it; much prefer it to XP2. There's more grain on close up shots in lower light though. I wish I knew what it was developed in.
