Really sorry to hear about the damaged caused by the to$$er who stole the rickshaw.

You guys do know you can make a claim against the rickshaw owner's insurance company, as the rickshaw had been stolen at the time of the offence. You just know the thief will claim he's penniless and get away with a slap on the wrist and 20 hours community service. What I find galling is that it's your insurance company that hikes the premium for a no-blame incident like this, if you claim off your FC insurance.

Find out who owns the rickshaw, they have to be insured if they carry passengers, which means it's not you that suffers.

I'm not excusing his actions but condone rape on someone for whatever reason - even if it is something as *dastardly* as scratching your bike & trying, unsuccessfully, to do a runner - is unbalanced thinking.

It is up to the judge to dispense justice, not some disturbed sexual deviant in a prison cell.
Having just spent 4 months working closely with the kind of scum who steal other people's vehicles, ram whatever they can and then set light to them (on a regular basis, I might add), Bum-rape is being too kind to them.

They know that whatever they do will just be added to an increasingly long list of offences that will be 'taken into consideration' when the length of community service is being decided. This sort of thing used to result in being remanded in custody and a short stretch of bird, nowadays it gets you a slap on the wrist at worst.

This country is too soft on crime, and it's all the fault of the lefty doo-gooder tree-hugging liberals, simple as that. Toughen the punishments, make prison or detention centres a place you really would not want to go back to and watch crime rates tumble. Best of all, put the people who are turning this country into a nanny-state, and the presistant offenders against a wall and dispense the 'one bullet each' option.

I don't want a Police state, I simply want a country where me, my loved ones and my property is safe from scum, and if it does get hrt, damaged or stolen I want the criminal to be fully accountable for their actions.

With todays high power weapons, as long as we shoot along the wall rather than at it we can get more of them with one bullet.

Think about it......

Sadly mate, one of the reasons why the Met Police and the Black Cabs Assc want these things banned from the roads is that they fall into a legal "grey area" and thereofre have riders who have no qualifications or police checks made against them and the law currently doent include them as vehicles that have to be insured.

They are teated as bicycles in the eyes of the law and currently no legislation exists demanding that ANY vehicle carrying passengers must be insured, just motorised ones.

I'll speak to my insurers tomorrow and see what they suggest.

It was ok thanks! Feel a bit rough now though cos I had to go to Manchester for a 30th Birthday party on the Saturday. Sorry if I was a bit much or offended anyone. My memory of the night is a bit patchy. Thanks to Sarah and Raf for the escort to the tube station. Tell ya what, if the other drunk had done his stupid bit when I was there you'd have seen one hell of a bumfight. Alcohol eh? Who'd have it.

Was there a run in with a truck and a Trumpet too?

Where did the p*ickshaw event happen?

Can the motherlesssonofagoat get taken to court privately to get the repair costs back?

It's a shame our mate Ken Livingstone hasn't cracked down on the rickshaws. Tax dodging, fare stealing, unsafe, un-insured. It's absolutely bananas that they're on the road at all!

I'm sorry you all have to bear the costs of someone else's drunken stupidity. I know it seems unlikely but maybe he'll feel guilty enough to cough up. I hope it doesn't put anyone off going up there.

When / where did you see "me"?

I was too disappointed to even turn up in the first place, once I knew you wouldn't be there!
