One of those pillion backrests normally found badly chromed and tasselled on hardly-driveables.

I really cant agree. Happened not so long ago with the wheel doing a nice spin on my cos of poor road surface and rain (maybe other substance too) was a bit like why is the back going sideways the bike not going forward and the rev limiter kicking in

Depends, tends to be a laugh to lay a bit of a stripe on a hot days blast, but when it's f###in freezing and you just want to be at home, the back end going AWOL is the last thing you want.

Guys.
This is such a refreshing thread. I have been riding since August and had the SV since September and to hear some of the comments that guys are making about their riding makes me feel human. I really struggle with my riding but to know that there are others out there who feel just the same about their riding makes me feel a lot better. I am still very wary about getting out on the bike but am slowly clocking up the miles and getting the confidence. However, I am a million miles away from scraping the knee (hence the absence of sliders on my leathers) and I think the maybe I have got the biggest chicken strips but at least I know now that I am not alone. I know a lot of the comments on this thread are probably very tongue in cheek but thanks for making a rubbish rider feel just a little bit better about himself. If you see me on the roads, don't wave (I'll probably try and wave back and then fall off). I'll be the one with the square profile tyres. You cant miss them. |
