Well was just about to finish the work so nothing declared as yet but its mainly cosmetic. I have an engineer coming around to assess the damage and was told that i can submit receipts for any work done. The engineer will assess on the bikes current spec (before the acident) so i should be ok !!

God i hope i dont get shafted !!

really sorry to hear this mate been looking at this thread now and then too see how its going, good that ur not too badly injured, hope u get it all sorted with the insurance

Hope it all works out ok - who are you insured with ? - the fact that you'd done a lot of mods and didn't tell them - they could turn round and say because you didn't tell them about the modifications, your insurance is void - hope this doesn't happen, but it wouldn't surprise me - if they think they can wriggle out of a claim they will do - even taking off the mirrors effects the insurance - I know because I put that down on my insurance and it changed the premium ( cost a fiver extra ! ) - the fact you've fitted a performance exhaust etc and not told them may be an interesting one ...

sorry if this is a bit depressing, but worth preparing for.
