A razz sounds great Paul.

Have been thinking also about faster, better handling bikes that aren't IL4's. Such as 749/748. I like the sound of the Mille. I'm quite tall as well so may look just slightly out of place on a babby 600.

Ducatis may be slightly harder on the bank account though, and i'm not the richest kid in the world.

Definately.

You take the SV1000

I'll take the Mille, Tuono, 749, 748, Buelle 1200, 1098, RSVR, 996 and VTR

Happy?

It will be harder on the bank account, but it is definately a very rewarding bike to won and ride, but it can make you cry with frustratino as well

If you're looking for something that feels like an SV to ride, but you want more power, better handling and better brakes, then definately look at a 749 because thats exactly what it feels like.

I havent ridden an 848 so cant comment on that, but speak to Pete & Lissa about the 996...

I'd imagine you are going to get walloped when it comes to insurance though...

An 848 would be the bike I would choose if I already had one I could use all the time (in rain, snow etc).

Dont rule out IL4's - give them a go before you rule them out.

I HATED the Z750 I took out on a test ride at first, but am now very glad that I gave it an hour or so, then went and ordered one

I hear the older ZX6's are very good - and quite affordable and comfortable compared to the new ones - A J2 is the vintage you require I believe

I could see you on a 749/749 binky

Will be nice seeing one getting ridden properly for a change, rather than polished and pampered.

Saying that though, it will need a little bit more care and maintenance than the SV currently gets

I won't be pursuing a new bike actively until the Autumn/next year and even then it'll probably only be a couple of test rides if i can get them.

So maybe insurance will be less of a pain by that time, and fingers crossed i;ll have a fair few more NCB from the SV.

OK well this might give you food for thought with regard to the Ducati servicing

http://www.motorapido.co.uk/ducati%20servicing.php

Click on the down box and pick the model and it'll show you the servicing costs and intervals. Liz's 749S goes to Moto Rapido, they are very reputable and the class of service we get is definately a cut above the Suzuki dealer my GSXR goes to...
