![]() As its now been a week since the event and I am now back on the bike (Vixis will be as soon as she can sit on it comfortably), its time for a few observations based on replaying the event over and over... 1) There was nothing wrong with my positioning on the road, however it has now been added to the list of things not to do. 2) There was nothing I could do, the cyclist must have been in front of the driver of the van up until the moment he decided to dash for the Cycle lane, I really didn't have a chance. 3) ABS is a wonderful thing, it may not have stopped us in time, even without it we wouldn't have stopped, but it kept the bike in a straight line, the rear didn't have a chance to step out, which could have led to the injury of innocent cyclists in the cycle lane had the bike gone sideways. 4) While I could cheerfully strangle the idiot that caused the incident, I am in many ways glad he was able to run away from the scene, although it would have made things easier had he stuck around. The addition of Vixis in the mix has had me look VERY hard at this incident, probably with more honesty than any other, so while I still stand by the comment I made in Kuze's thread about his off, that there is always an element of fault in every incident, and stuff to be learned, this was as close to no fault as it gets in my opinion. Thanks to those who wished us well.

Riding/ driving in London sucks. You really cant tell what anyone is going to do unless it is a white van/ minicab and in that case they are probably going to try to kill you. Airwolf - you are just up the road from me ![]() |

sorry to hear of this SK, glad you both seem to be ok and your bike should be fine for the TD tomorrow.
