Well Vodafone still weren't playing the game and I was getting so fed up of my HTC Tattoo being rubbish I went into Carphone Warehouse and they sorted me out with a good deal on a Samsung Galaxy S2.

Wow is all I can say!!

I just got off the phone with Orange.

On Monday, my Galaxy S2 will arrive, free of charge, unlimited texts, 500 minutes, 500 wotsits of data, all for £21 a month including full insurance!

Happy Pete

Galaxy S2 is a great phone (my previous was an iPhone).

My only problem is that I paid the extra fiver to have 1gb data on the basis that it's better to be safe than sorry. I've only used 1% of my data allowance and I'm near the end of the month

Found a bit of an issue with the Galaxy S2.

When I use it as a sat nav it uses more power than the cigarette lighter charger can give it meaning that even though it's plugged into the charger the batterty is still going down so not good for long journeys.

Anyone else have this problem? Maybe it's just my cheap 99p from Hong Kong on Ebay charger.

My HTC Desire HD updated to Android 2.3.3 a while back....TBH can really see too much difference.

My desire S is 2.3.3 although the HTC skin hides most out the box Android UI.

So the real issue benefit is the underlying API and it is up to app developers to exploit Gingerbread. However I guess most work to a lowest common denominqator and target froyo.
