well its nice to read that you lot on here are all as nutty but sensible as me, and we all have similar thoughts. i think the very same words as posted by specialone above when approaching occupied junctions!! as dizzyblonde also said "...and trust me, all the planning in the world ain't going to save you if some git comes for you!" this is also true. the bike i had before my sv was a zxr400 and i come off the bugger twice!! while it is a little pocket rocket that i loved in the end i accepted that it wasnt the bike for me as although it handled twisties at speed immensley, it, for me, was not a practical everyday bike in terms of flickabilty and swerving out the way of the hazards we face on the road. first time i came off, a dumb b**ch in a polo swerved right into my path seemingly out of nowhere for no reason with no indication, and even though i was at a sensible speed, with the little time i had to plan anything, i was braking and trying to steer away from the offending car but it just kept coming and before i knew it i was planted in the side of it and dragged down the road. after a solid month of repairing and respraying the bike to like new condition, i was back on the road despite 2 chipped vert and a damaged knee. i then enjoyed 2 months on it again, racking up nearly 4000 mile when i was taken off again by another biker on a streetfightered gsx1100 with no lights whatsoever, on a charity bike ride!! this happened on a slip onto a big A road, and even though i gave him plenty of space, staggered well to the left, he had the bright idea of slamming on his brakes and skidding sideways into my frontend cos he seen a tiny cap of some kind fly off his missus' bike up infront and thought he would pull over to get it on a road with no stopping allowed and without any observation. within milliseconds i went from looking over my shoulder to see the road i was merging onto was clear, to look foward to this prat coming my way fast. my escape route was invaded, my bike was wrecked and his had not a scratch.all i remeber then was sliding 30ft down the road towards the embankment convinced i would be run over by something from behind. this story is long enough but what im getting at is i now have another bike which im not afraid to ride, i cant imagine not having a bike now even though ive experienced some pretty scary experiences, and if you still get a big smile spread across your face on the freedom of two wheels, dont let any ******* put you off. i treat everyone else on the road as if they are sheep nowdays, and am determined not to let anyone come between me and my bike again. ride to the best of your ability with confidence and know that you are getting the best out of life by doing so.

Only kidding, put a few spaces in your text tho, I didn't take a breath until the end lol

Btw, sounds like you've had your fair share of bad luck, hopefully that's yours out the way and you won't get anymore
